Justin Allgaier faced adversity on several occasions throughout the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race weekend at Phoenix Raceway, but he persevered through it all to score his first championship in his 14th full-time season.
The JR Motorsports driver started the race weekend by having to go to a backup No. 7 BRANDT Chevrolet Camaro following a practice crash. Allgaier started the championship race at the rear of the field, but battled towards the front to compete with his fellow title contenders in the early stages of the race. Allgaier then had to overcome two mid-race penalties to get back into contention. He maneuvered his way to the championship lead late in the race, but had to earn it back following a caution flag and the race's final pit stops. On the first of two Overtime restarts, Allgaier made a bold move to the championship lead position and held on the rest of the way to clinch the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series title with a second-place finish.
