NASCAR Hall of Fame® driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be getting back to his racing roots this as historic North Wilkesboro Speedway roars back to life.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Sun Drop announced a multi-year extension to their partnership that will see Sun Drop serve as the primary sponsor for the NASCAR Hall of Famer in one late model race in both 2023 and 2024. This year’s race will be the CARS Tour event at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 17. Furthering the throwback feel of Earnhardt piloting the type of racecar in which he began his stock car racing career, his No. 3 Chevrolet will feature the support of Sun Drop. The popular citrus-flavored soft drink company also backed Dale Jr.'s Late Models back in the early 1990's.
Now, fans can celebrate Dale Jr.'s return to Late Model racing at the historic North Wilkesboro track with the official Lionel Racing die-cast of the Sun Drop No. 3 Chevrolet. Produced on Lionel Racing's 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo tooling to closely replicate the look of a current Late Model Stock Car, this die-cast is being offered in 1:24 scale with an opening hood and trunk, realistic details, authentic decals, and more. An autographed 1:24-scale edition, signed by Dale Jr., is also available, as is a 1:24-scale model that features a glistening Liquid Color finish. A smaller, 1:64-scale version, is also available for order.

RWMay 18, 2023I thought they were going to use an updated diecast model? It seems like this is the regular lumina diecast . I will say the attention to detail on this is amazing. It is very well built and the signature is flawless. I am hoping the bass pro and mom n pops diecasts more closely reflect the cars latemodel rather than the gen4 cup car. Overall very happy with it, docked 1 star for not looking like the CARS tour car.
